Many of you following our Cancer Journey know my father, John Grissen. He passed away on April 10, 2018 at the age of 100 years. June 2 is his birthday so he almost made it to 101!
I’m thankful I flew to Florida to spend a couple days with him several weeks before his passing. We had some good conversations and I could wheel him around his premises in his wheelchair. This picture is from that visit.
He lived a quality life all those years without fighting any disease. His slow decline came over the past two months of life without much pain.
Dad was a committed believer and a positive testimony to the Lord in the senior center where he had a comfortable room for the past 4 years.
A graveside Celebration of Life will be held at the Hamilton, Michigan (Riverside) Cemetery at 2:00pm on Saturday, May 19. Join us for that and a dessert time afterwards at the Haven Reformed Church fellowship hall.
We’ll miss his presence with us, but our faith informs us, he’s with the Lord today.
